The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) will change disability services and the way they are purchased, giving more choice to the person with a disability. It aims to help people with a disability live and enjoy their life now and as their life changes.

The new scheme is rolling out in stages and is already operating in other regions in Victoria. The planned rollout for the southern region is as follows:

April 2018: Bayside, Frankston, Glen Eira, Kingston, Mornington Peninsula, Port Phillip & Stonnington
September 2018: Casey, Cardinia & Greater Dandenong

Parents and carers often tell us that navigating the service system can be very difficult. We have a listing of information sources available in the community, to help you know what supports you might be able to access.

Respite South is here to help you access information about local disability respite options in the southern region of Melbourne, Victoria. It also has information about carer support meetings, parent information sessions, respite and recreation options, and general news from the disability sector.
